Green CSCS Card

Labourer & General Operative

Ideal for labourers, bricklayers, carpenters, electricians, and other general construction workers. The green card requires passing the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Operatives Test, completed within the last two years. If you haven’t taken this test yet, you can book it below.

Test Required: CITB Operatives Health, Safety & Environment Test

Validity: 5 years

Blue CSCS Card

Skilled Worker

Suitable for those who’ve completed an employer-sponsored apprenticeship or hold a construction-related NVQ/SVQ Level 2. Most roles require the Operatives test, but specialist positions may require additional specific tests (e.g., working at heights, highway works).

Validity: 5 years

Advanced Craft or Supervisory

Apprentice, Trainee, Experienced Worker, Supervisor, or Manager

A temporary card for apprentices and experienced workers undergoing training towards a recognised qualification or apprenticeship. The required test depends on your role: Operatives Test for general roles, Supervisors Test for supervisory roles, and Managers and Professionals Test for management roles.

Test Required: Role-specific CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test

Validity: 3 years (non-renewable)
